Watercolor Challenge - Paint a Scene with a Barn, Postcard (4 x 6)

Media - Watercolor

Barns are some of the most beautiful and picturesque buildings found in a rural setting. For this swap, paint postcards (4 x 6 inches) that feature a barn --old or new, fancy or plain. You may have the barn be a focal point of the card or simply have it as an element of the picture. Watercolor (paint, crayon, pencils...as long as you wet the media) are all fine. You may also use pen and ink or fine marker for detail, but it should be a minor part of the picture.

Rules of the Road
- All cards should be the 4" x 6"
- All cards should be sent in plastic sleeves or ziploc bags.
- All cards must be original, and each card must be different.
- Show off your talents. Send work that took time and care.
- Watercolor painting only, although you may use minor pen and ink to enhance your work.

Mailing & Postage
- When you're ready to mail, please PM me for my address.
- Make sure your name, user name, location, and the swap name
on the backs of all cards.
- Send a large self-addressed address label. I'll provide envelopes.
-IMPORTANT--Please weigh your cards and provide correct return postage to cover cards and an envelope (envelope is one ounce) from the USA. If you need help calculating return postage, PM me, thanks!

- Please mail your cards early so they arrive on time. US players, it
can take 1 week, Canada usually 2 weeks, other countries usually a
week to 10 days. It is not fair to the other players, so plan ahead, please. I might nag if you are the last one we are waiting on (but will do it with love.)

Returns
- Please be sure to indicate 2 for 2 or 3 for 3 on your return envelope so I send you the right number of cards!!!
- When you receive your returns, please leave iTrader for me and rep
points for the artists. It is always nice to tell the player which card
you received too. Thank yous to your fellow swappers are essential!

Here are two Bucks County, Pennsylvania barns. I had a little help from photos from Barns of Bucks County by Jeffrey L. Marshall and Willis M. Rivinus.
The first is a banked barn located in Springfield Township.
The second is a porthole ventilator barn located in Reigelsville, and is constructed of stone and wood.

That was fast Jo. I feel a little intimidated now, it is going to take me at least a week to do mine, if not longer. It is nice to have a reference of the high standard to aim for though. Well done you, Jo.

Must it be a post card, or will high quality watercolor paper be acceptable ? 4 x 6" of course.
