Boredom Buster All art, all size, all mediums, ART-a-THON April 13-21st

This is an mix of ideas, an art a thon, a hunt like task list, and boredom busters.

This is an all medium, all size, all arts, A THON. All mediums are welcome: collating, sewing, painting, drawing, digital, napkins (with or without beeswax), Washi tape, photographs, beading, Zentangle, stamps (postage and rubber), stickers. .

SIZE MATTERS: you might want to mention what size your art is when you post images.

ATCs, APCs, ATCoins (2.5”circle), Chunky pages (4" x4”), Inchies (1" x1”), Twinchies (2" x2”), Moos (1” x2.75”), tags, rolos, shaped cards (houses, arches, etc), postcards (4” x6”), bookmarks (2” x6”), or whatever type of art your Muse calls you to create.

    What IS an ATART?

It’s an All Types of ART marathon where you can create art, done over the same time in each time zone. This thread will be our craft room.

    How it works:
Start creating art when it’s time to start, then upload your lovely creations to your Athon Gallery or your Available for Trade area. Post to the thread, there are many ways to do this. Ask for help if you need it. Trading and chatting are going on all the time as people are awake in different time zones.

How to ask for a trade:
When you see a piece of art you would like to trade, Feel free to mention it in the thread, but please SEND A PERSONAL MESSAGE (PM) to that person asking for a trade, so they dont miss the post.

Want to compliment an artist?: remember you can click the You Rock button and leave your compliment/comment there or post a comment in the thread. The QUOTE button copies the artist post and you just write below or above the QUOTE area.

Yes! I want to participate! I would love a good art conversation, and April 12th is a great start date. I should be out of elastic for making fabric masks by then. I am not particularly bored, but I miss interacting with people.

Sniisk, don't worry about craft supplies. Remember those Trash to Treasure swaps? What art supplies do you need? Are you in the USA and accepting mail? I have been hoarding craft supplies for years. If I can find the supplies and postage stamps without leaving the house, I will mail you a few things.

I think I'm quite far away from the USA. I live in Finland . When this virus started to effect on my normal life, I moved to our summer cabin with my daughter. Normally we live in the city center of Helsinki, but this cabin is kind of in the middle of nowhere but just a short drive (one hour) away from home. I cannot go back to the city at the moment and have here just what we normally have. But we have some craft supplies here .

This link is for a post full of Chunky(4x4) Eye candy. It is from an old chunky chat thread that went dormant about 8 years ago so much of the links in other posts aren't good now. The ones I looked at this morning from this post worked and were of great inspiration.

Watching youtube now. Here is a good beginners guide to geli printing. I love the idea of braying the extra paint directly into a composition book or other art journal instead of on loose paper as I would do. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zHuQ8mMt-0

& I found a great Mixed Media you tube artist, with a series she calls Mixed Media Morsels by Cat Hand. Here is a flip through of her first 25 morsel pages (techniques). There is a separate video on each one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1xT_-803Xw & Here is MMMorsel #1

I have done a lot of ATC backgrounds then later not remembered what products or techniques I used. So I am thinking if I do these I will leave the opposite page blank or do them on index cards with info on the back so I can write the directions down as a reminder.

Today, I went for a walk outdoors with my cellphone camera. As a scavenger hunt, I tried to photograph at least six different flowers. Later, I will use the photos as inspiration to paint ATCs. I zoomed in on some tiny purple wild flowers which had incredible details when made larger. I didn't expect to find much except yellow dandelions, but toward the end of my walk I found a pink rose bush!

This sounds fun but I won't have much available time. I'm still working full time (grocery store) but I'll follow the thread and try to play when I can. I always enjoy seeing what everyone is creating and then kick myself for not making more effort to create something for trading.
