I got cards from Karr3l and look forward to spending a day or two catching up, though right now I am trying to catch up with charity cards, which I keep signing up for when I get caught up, which is not all bad because then I have an excuse to shop on Amazon....again. So don't feel too bad for me because I'm getting a lot (of stuff) out of it. I forgot about this stuff so today I really had no legitimate excuse for buying stickers and washi tape off of Amazon today, but I will think of one.

So, here are some sets I finished off today -

    the rabbits are by lucymc/bluskyhare/me

    the Edwardian ladies are collagaintashley/mrubyjean/me

    the stamp cards are angeljoy/mrubyjean/me

    the Nouveau ladies are artsyone/karr3ll/me

    0421modelF.jpg

and this one is a buddy card started by karr3ll

I still have some more cards I'd like to work on tomorrow, and it's supposed to rain all day despite being a bank holiday (i.e. no work), so sounds like a good excuse for art!

I also worked on loads of second round cards and made some starters. In the next message, I'll show two of the second round sets which I'd like to ask for players on (the others will be random, but there are reasons for these two...)

Not sure how many stamps I have but some envelopes will definitely be going in the post Tuesday, and others later in the week after I get more stamps.

Ok, these are both card sets where I need to send them to another player.

The first one - the APCs - are part of Heather's (CastleQueen) big obit APC project - I can't remember who was keen to play with those, so if you'd like to work on them, please shout and I'll send them along. I do have another set waiting to work on (it's the letter I) so I'll make note of two people who are interested.

The second (the pumpkins are bright orange felt - my scanner struggles with bright orange - go figure) are Hallowe'en. I know we have a smiley to indicate holidays, but thought it was easier to just ask who likes Hallowe'en all year long - I know I'm not the only weirdo.

I should add that I chose "Karl" because it's my dad and brother's name so it was the first thing that came to mind (and it's short, so fits nicely on the card), but the guy looks nothing like either of them (and on second examination, he really looks more like a Kevin...) and neither of them particularly liked to barbecue. Oh well!

No, but it's a bonus, especially when you already have as much stuff as I do, but I was very low on stickers, though I won't be able to say that for awhile....but that's okay because there's always another excuse.

Haagmm - Lynda Cook is not a player in this RR group, though she does swap with some of the people in the group in other situations. In order to send cards to others of us, I guess she uses addresses from times when she gets included in RRs with us? But if you do receive a set of cards from her and you don't want to work on them, you can just send them back. Not sure why she doesn't just join the group?

I love the rabbits set. I am so glad they came out with some new Extra ounce rabbit stamps. I was so sick of those patriotic men in hats. It is nice to see the rabbits used in cards.

I also love the dis-similar set esp the saying you can neither save nor ruin someone. Great quote.

Are these hand drawn cards acceptable for starters? I really struggle with how much to put on a starter set.

I had a bag of stuff to take to the post office yesterday! It was mostly CRRR envelopes and packages for my mom and my son.

I sent envies to Allegrae, BluSkyHare, CQ5, Collagaint Ashley, CynthiaSillitoe, Hushed Kitty, Karr3ll, Katelnorth, Katiea707, Lindagiese, LucyMc and Sweet Gypsy. These all had 1-2 sets of starters and a set of seconds and some had homers.

Also mailed homers only to chimerix, Angel Joy and artsyone.

I still have some sets and a few envelopes on my work table that will be finished up and mailed in a week or so. WHEW! Then I'll be caught up (at least for a little bit)

I think starter sets vary a lot. I don't really like ones which are just a piece of paper, but something which is hd/hp is more than that, even if it's still quite simple. I'd be happy to work on cards like yours.

They look ideal to me. Lots of scope for interpretation and adding details.
