Are you a collector? It is jokingly referred to as a disease or addiction by those “in the know”. I admit, I am one of them! My personal collections have tended to be very “girly” - swan figurines, cameo brooches, ladies’ powder compacts, etc. over a few decades. It is said that if you have 3 or more of an item, it can be considered a “collection”. It is just a very enticing hobby that one can get really passionate about.

This swap is “Open Media”, so you can illustrate your collections via hand-drawn images, collage, or mixed media. Embellishments that are not too bulky for the postal machines are welcome. In addition to making your cards, you are also welcome to post pictures of your actual collections, if you like. Also welcome would be stories and experiences regarding your collecting adventures. We are NOT COUNTING our ATC collections here - that would be too easy! Some card examples I made are included below. Do join in this swap, and we can commiserate (or rejoice) together!

CARDS and MAILING:
- Write username, real name, and swap title on the back of each 2 1/2 x 3 1/2” card.
- Ask for my mailing address via “direct message” when ready to mail (still at N. 146th Lane).
- An extra “host card” is never necessary (but always appreciated).
- Please place each card in a plastic sleeve.
- If taping cards together to travel safely, please use easy-release tape (Painters or Washi).
- Please include a large address label (the PO does not like the little return address stickers) and one Forever stamp. I will provide envelopes.
- INTERNATIONAL Players, please enclose your address label plus one Global Forever stamp or a $1 bill. I will provide envelopes.
- Remember to leave your appreciation (via Reps, or on this thread), to fellow swappers after receiving returns. Many swappers like to know who got their cards.
- Please leave Feedback for me (host), which tells me your cards have been received. Remember, Feedback is not given to fellow swappers - Reps are.IMG_1228.jpeg

Add me to your collection of players. I figure I have to come up with 3 collections and once I began thinking, I see that I will have to pick just 3 or 4.

I try not to think about my collections and I certainly don't talk about them because if I talk about them then they are real and, well, there's a bit of denial there.

but, all that said, I am happy to show and tell all about them....later.
Please sign me up!

I would like to join. My irresistible collection is plush stuffed toy bats. What else could you expect from me? Here are some of the star members of my fuzzy colony.
I became interested in bats when I was in college, while taking a class in Animal Behavior. We had one semester to study the life of our chosen animal. During this time I had three living bats which I kept caged in my apartment, except when I let them fly free in my apartment. At the end of the year, I brought them home with me. My mother was just thrilled when I arrived with my three pets.

Stellaluna.jpg Stellaluna. This is my favorite bat. Stellaluna is a character in the children's book Stellaluna by Janell Cannon. The book is the story of a bat who makes friends with birds. In spite of their very different points of view they become friends. This is a lesson in accepting differences. I have given the book to each of my grandchildren, and also to some very dear adult friends. The illustrations in the book are wonderful.

Silly Toothy Bat.jpg A Silly Toothy Bat. This is one of many Halloween type bats.

Ok Martha, happy to sign you up when you are ready!
Glad you are joining us Jo! Those stuffed bats are really cute, and I love the story of how your interest all started. Was that sarcasm, or was your Mom really thrilled with her new house-guests?

Definitely sarcasm about my Mom and the bats. I was going to college in Indiana but home was in California. To bring the bats to CA, I put them in a paper bag and placed them beneath the seat on the plane. That was WAY BEFORE all the current security and x-raying everything you carried onto a plane.

But admit, I love your story about the three friends you had with you!
They're awesome cretures, indeed!

Welcome leydab! Seems like we all might collect those extra pounds (but not on purpose!)
