PALETTE KNIFE PAINTING, ATC Swap, Due Oct. 3

I thought that I would try painting flowers straight on ATC size backings. I only have a student's beginner set of acrylics (2 reds, 2 yellows, orange, blue, green, purple with black and white) and for some reason my black paint breaks down to a dark green when I try to mix it with anything
Really liked my poppies IMG_4153.jpg not so keen on what are supposed to be red tulips IMG_4154.jpg
tried adding some sky to the next 2:
IMG_4155.jpgtried for 2-colour leaves IMG_4156.jpginspired by the acacia trees in full bloom seen on our walk - blossoms formed with the end of a kebab stick, dipped in both yellows

Donna, the mountains are great. Was it hard to choose? I love the first four as well, can see you’ve been busy. I tell myself in order to make this learning experience worth it, I should create at least one HD/HP card with palette knives for future swaps I join

The mountains chose themselves - if you look at the original you will see that there is a blob in the middle of the painting, I just trimmed around it. My cards will be on the way to you tomorrow.

I am not joining this swap. However, the art is beautiful! I wrote down the directions for the technique and plan to try it out. For the rest of this week, my art room is an office & bedroom for our oldest son who is visiting, and working. So this is a future project.

Thanks Nancy, for your interest in the technique. I hope you’ll let me know how it goes when you are able to try.

So glad you tried this method leydab, and thanks for posting pictures. That rugged tree trunk is great!

Maxtastic , I don’t know how I missed your request to sign up! That has been rectified, and you are very welcome.

I'd like to join, please. I've just been experimenting with the technique a bit. It's nice and messy. 🎨 My hands are all kinds of colors these days.🤣
