GIANT TORTOISE ALERT
I just read in the news that the species of Giant Tortoise previously believed to be extinct on Fernandina Island in the Galapagos has been discovered alive and well, and over 100 years old. This species was last seen on this island over 100 years ago. Each Island has its own species of tortoise. The tortoise is now in the care of the local park service.
